The MOROCCO GOLF FESTIVAL is an annual golf competition – open to amateur golfers (senior men, senior women, men, women, boys & girls). Handicap limits: Men: 28, Ladies/girls 36.

AGGREGATE STABLEFORD TOURNAMENT: Four rounds, best three points totals to count

In addition to competitive golf, there is an exciting programme full of various activities: Cocktails party – City sightseeing tour of Marrakech– Gala Dinners– Accompanying person programme….. This tournament week is great fun and an enjoyable way of making new friends, friendly competition and play on some outstanding golf courses in Morocco

Saturday 9 October 2010: Flight from London Gatwick to Marrakech (operated by ROYAL AIR MAROC, Flight AT673, depart from London Gatwick North Terminal at 20:30 and arrive to Marrakech at 23:05). Assistance in Marrakech airport and transfer to the PALM PLAZA HOTEL & SPA 5*****. Check-in and overnight at the hotel

Colin Farquharson - Tournament Director

Colin Farquharson has spent well over 50 years in sports journalism with particular emphasis on golf writing. He was sports editor of the Aberdeen morning newspaper, The Press and Journal, until he took early retirement in 1997 to "do my own thing" in the golfing world.

He formed the Cal Cal Carson Golf Agency, which has been his "umbrella" for freelance golf writing, golf photography, marketing golf resorts and countries as golf tourist venues.

Organised courtesy trips by parties of golf writers to such places as Ireland, Portugal, Spain and Morocco where he and his wife Ethel would run daily golf competitions for them to keep them out of mischief.

Three years ago, Colin started the Hacienda del Alamo Women's & Girls' February Festival at the five-star resort in Murcia, south-east Spain. It is getting bigger and better every year.

His daughter Elaine was Scottish girls champion and then women's champion and played for Great Britain & Ireland in Curtis Cup and Vagliano Trophy matches as well as winning the women's world pairs championship in Brazil with Helen Dobson as her partner.

Colin caddied for Elaine in some of her biggest occasions - including the final of the British women's championship at Hoylake - and the experience has left him with a soft spot for girls' and women's golf.
